Exploring the City

One major difference I've noticed between Calgary and Vancouver is that nobody seems to hang out downtown on the weekends. I'm so used to a downtown that is constantly bustling with people everywhere so the relative quiet here is just so strange to me. The other major difference I've noticed is the weather, which is completely unstable. In one day, it will be freezing in the morning, hailing at lunch time, sunny and hot in the afternoon, then raining at night. Makes it hard to plan outfits!

Top: Talula (Aritzia) / Pants: Gap (here) / Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs (here)
Flats: Bloch (different colour) / Hair Cuff: H&M (similar)
Earrings: Front & Company / Watch: Michael Kors (here)

Since I haven't quite figured out the transit system yet, I've been walking all over the city exploring what I can. Thought I'd share a few shots of downtown: Olympic Plaza with Calgary Tower in the background and me posing with members of the Famous Five installation.

  4. Oh, the prairies - I didn't know that Calgary was the type of place where no one spent time downtown, but after living in Winnipeg, it doesn't surprise me much. The one nice thing is that you can basically get the whole area to yourself :) Looks like you're making the most of your time so far. And of course I love this outfit. So perfectly classic!

  10. I didn't know Calgary weather was so indecisive! I hope you're enjoying your new city and job despite the weather. I'm sure four months will fly right by! Loving your hair cuff too, it really makes a ponytail so much more interesting.

  12. I remember my 4 days in Calgary consisted of different types of weather as well and they were all extremes! The first day was SNOWING in April. The second day was raining and the third and fourth were so hot I was in sandals and a tank top. Was I prepared? NO! It was ridiculous!
