Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist

Today marks the first day of the VIB Rouge Sale at Sephora (15% off everything) and next Friday, the sale will open up to to VIBs (15% off everything) and BIs (10% off everything). I've been eagerly awaiting this sale since I've got quite a few items on my wishlist.

My skin has been less than stellar so I've become super obsessed with revamping my skincare routine. I'm especially looking forward to trying out the much-talked-about line, Drunk Elephant. The Littles Kit seems like the perfect way to try out their most popular products. I've also heard great things about the Kate Somerville EradiKate Foam-Activated Mask so am planning on popping that into my shopping bag as well.

Since GLAMGLOW masks are quite pricey, I'll be picking up the GLAMGLOW Let It Glow! Little Sexy Trio. To apply them (and my other face masks since I do love a good mask session), I also want the Origins Facial Mask Brush. I presently just use my fingers which gets messy.

I don't need any new makeup but I will be stocking up on my must-haves: Anastasia Brow Wiz and Kat Von D Ink Liner. I go through these every few months so it makes sense to nab a few extras now at a savings.

Lastly, I have loved Victor & Rolf BONBON for the longest time but never purchased it since I don't wear fragrances on a daily basis. The Victor & Rolf BONBON Travel Spray seems like the perfect way to get my fix of this sweet scent without having to invest in a full-size bottle.

Wishlist: Cold Weather Accessorizing

The days have been getting chilly, which means I've been thinking about all the fun cold weather accessories that I kind of, sort of, need to add to my closet. It also means flu season is here (ugh) so while sick in bed over the weekend, I had time to compile a wishlist of things I'm currently coveting.

Fjallraven Luhkka Cape. Not only is this cape adorable with its furry hood, it's practical thanks to its water-resistant G-1000® material and thin synthetic lining. I'm envisioning pairing it with skinnies and boots for the Fall, but also love that it can be layered over regular jackets or shells for extreme cold weather protection. Now if only I had a winter cabin where I could wear this...

Eugenia Kim Kat Headband. Headbands are great for keeping your ears warm without messing up your hair and that's why I love my "turband" so much. This Eugenia Kim one is a little on the pricey side but you can't deny that the cat ears are completely adorable.

Joie Delyth Booties. I already have a pair of Sorel boots, which are perfect for trudging through the snow on my many trips up North. Since I get so much wear out of them, who's to say I can't own another pair of winter boots? I really like the colour-way on these Joie booties, especially the grey felt upper and the red laces.

Fjallraven Kånken Mini Backpack. I've always loved the style of these backpacks, from the fun rectangular shape to the myriad of colour options. The mini version would be perfect for transporting my stuff on Fall bike rides or as a handbag with more casual outfits.

Roots Cabin Socks. Roots has the best selection of loungewear, especially cute wool socks. These ones (in the lighter grey version) kind of remind me of sock monkeys!

Thanks to Fjallraven Canada for partnering with me on this post!

Wishlist: ShopBop Sale

Shopbop's Friends and Family Sale event is back, which means it's the perfect time to cross some items off your wishlist! Enter discount code FAMILY25 at checkout to enjoy 25% off storewide between October 14th -16th with some brand exclusions (for guys, the sale is on at East Dane too).

Here's what I'm currently lusting over:

1. Leather Tote. My Longchamp has been my go-to work tote for years but sometimes I want to mix things up a little when carrying files and papers to and from the office. This Madewell Transport Tote is such a classic bag and the tan shade is perfect for Fall.

2. Leather Moto Jacket. I already have an awesome leather jacket but lately the moto style has also been calling my name. I especially love this Madewell Perfect Moto Jacket with its all black hardware.

3. Slouchy Beanie. One of my favourite things about cooler weather are the fun accessories, hats included. Shopbop has a ton of great options like this one from 1717 Olive and this one from Hat Attack.

4. Pointy Toe Oxfords. These Rachel Zoe Raven Cap Toe Oxfords are at the top of my wishlist right now (love the silver detailing), with these Matt Bernson Darby Oxfords a close second.

Wishlist: Costume Jewelry

While fine jewelry is always nice, lately I've had my eye on some more embellished costume jewelry pieces that really make a statement.
  1. I adore House of Harlow 1960 and these Actue Earrings are extremely affordable.
  2. Though a huge splurge, this amazing Naga Gold and Silver Lava Dragon Ring by John Hardy features African rubies, black sapphire, and white sapphire and is sure to be a conversation starter.
  3. Brownie Sparkles is a local online jewelry shop with a fun selection of jewelry, like this Butter Gunmetal Red Leather Rhinestone Bracelet.
  4. ALEX AND ANI Birthstone Bangles are sold individually and worn alone for a more delicate look but I personally love them stacked.

Wishlist: Diamond Earrings

With holiday parties on the horizon (I have my first one coming up in just a few weeks if you can believe it), I've recently begun gathering outfit inspiration and planning what to wear to each event. For me, the dress I'm wearing typically tends to be the focal piece but I believe it is actually the accessories that can make or break the look.

I've gotten a lot of wear out of my Anjolee eternity band (seen here) so I popped over to their website to see what they might have in the way of occasion-worthy jewelry. Let's just say I was not disappointed!

I was particularly drawn to Anjolee's selection of diamond earrings which come in all sorts of styles and, in many cases, can be customized by metal and gemstone. This means you can even match your jewelry to your dress if you are so inclined.

The various drop earrings and pavé studs available are absolutely stunning, as well as their gorgeous diamond hoop earrings which also caught my eye. I have never been much of a hoop earring girl, tending to favour super dangly baubles when getting dressed up, but these are just so elegant I think I might have to convert. Besides, who can say "no" to a little sparkle?

The New Crew

As the cooler weather starts to set in, I'm predicting one item that will gain increasing traction in many a Fall wardrobe is the new crew sweater. Part sweater/part sweatshirt and all sorts of comfy, the new crew can be layered to create a variety of different looks and add a little more personality to a basic outfit.

Obtaining such a versatile piece of clothing, however, doesn't mean you have to break the bank. Whether you prefer embellishments, stripes, or witty sayings, Old Navy has managed to create a statement new crew sweater for everyone.

I personally fall into the latter category (witty sayings) so these cute terry-fleece raglan tops immediately caught my eye:

Lucky for me, all Old Navy sweaters are now on sale until September 11 with prices starting at just $15. Time to stock up!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Old Navy but all opinions, as always, are my own.

Pre-Fall Wishlist

Proenza Schouler PS11
I've been coveting the PS11 for quite a while now and I think it will probably be my next bag purchase. Now to decide what colour... classic black or something different like this blue ombre?

Kenzo Tiger Sweater
The ubiquitous Kenzo Tiger Sweater in its many iterations is both flashy and ridiculous, but I'm kind of obsessed with it. However, I can't decide if the tiger tee or this much cheaper Lovers + Friends version might be safer bets to get my graphic fix.

Leopard Pumps
Leopard pumps are such a classic. I'm hoping to find some this Fall that will really elevate my work looks (to be worn outside of the courtroom, of course). So far I've got my eye on these Diane von Furstenberg Anette Leopard High Heels as well as these Kate Spade Lottie Leopard High Heels.

Floppy Brimmed Fedora
This Rag & Bone Floppy Brim Fedora is at the top of my wishlist right now though I also love this version. Some similar but cheaper options on my radar include this super wide brimmed fedora from ASOS and this wool panama hat from Urban Outfitters.

Duo-Toned Monk Shoes
Ever since I saw these 10 Crosby Derek Lam Roland Flats in a ShopBop lookbook, I have been envisioning all the wonderful Fall outfits I could create with them. Unfortunately, they won't ship this particular pair of shoes to Canada! Any ideas on where I can find something similar or where this brand is sold in Vancouver?

Wishlist: Superdry

I first heard of Superdry when David Beckham was spotted wearing the brand a number of years ago, and have always been intrigued by its streetwear sensibility. Despite being British, the brand uses a lot of Japanese lettering which gives its pieces an international vibe while remaining just a little bit vintage and a little bit grunge.

Superdry recently asked me to compile a wishlist of items from its online store and I had no problem picking out some favourites. In fact, it was really hard to narrow everything down! I particularly love the graphics on the Brighton Tote Bag and Slouch Sleeve Top, and the Luxe Sorority Top has an easy drape that will go with tons of different outfits. Superdry is also known for its jackets, and this gorgeous leather Tarpit Jacket looks like it fits well and is very on-trend.

Superdry Brighton Tote Bag, Superdry Luxe Sorority Top, Superdry Tarpit Jacket, Superdry Slouce Sleeve Top

Be sure to check out their online store to find everything from outerwear to tops, bottoms, accessories, and shoes. My fellow Canadians will also be glad to know they now have a dedicated Canadian site - woohoo!

Currently Coveting: Charlotte Olympia Zodiac Shoes

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen my excited tweets over Charlotte Olympia's new Cosmic Collection, a line of Birthday Shoes and Zodiac Pandora perspex clutches inspired by what else? Star signs!

The clutches are definite statement pieces but I've personally got my eyes on the shoes (now on sale at Net-a-Porter). I'm loving the rainbow of colours, all topped with sparkly Swarovski crystal and enamel ornaments.

What's even better is that the Virgo flats (here) are actually cute. I feel like some zodiac signs often get the short end of the stick when it comes to horoscope-inspired items (my sign being one of them). They also happen to match my Miu Miu mini bow bag perfectly.

The question is: can I really justify another trendy flats purchase? My Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats have certainly become a closet staple but it looks like these will have to go on the wishlist... for now.

Get Fit (& January Must-Reads)

Question of the month: How often do you work out? What's your preferred method of exercise?

I exercise 4-5x a week. Right now I am taking Zumba and yoga classes, and mixing those with cardio/strength training at the gym. Zumba is probably my favourite workout (I've been taking classes for about 3 years), but I find fitness classes in general to be the most fun since you have the guidance of an instructor and the exercises are always varied. While in Calgary, for example, I also dabbled in ballet barre workouts. Now that I'm back in Vancouver, I'm planning on getting a personal trainer because I want to learn how to deadlift!

And while we're on the topic of working out, I thought I'd share a few health and fitness-related items that are currently on my wishlist:

1. oGorgeous Beverly Bow Yoga Bag
2. Nike Free Run 3+ Running Shoes (here)
3. Flavour It Glass Water Bottle w/ Built-In Fruit Infuser

P.S. Don't forget to check out the other girls' answers to this question and their must-reads for the month of January.

Zara Wishlist

I'm so glad Zara finally has an online catalogue, as it is one of my favourite stores for on-trend and relatively inexpensive staples. Here are a few items I'm currently loving:

Blouse With Pockets - $69.90 CAD

Flower Blouse - $49.90 CAD

Blouse With Pleated Front - $59.90

Printed Kimono - $119 CAD

Dress With Crocheted Sleeves - $139 CAD

Wide Strap Sandal - $69.90 CAD

And yes, I think it's fair to say that I do gravitate towards a certain colour palette... ;)

Holiday Wishlist: $$$ Edition

In the spirit of Christmas (or perhaps I should say, in the spirit of all things materialistic), I have been wasting a lot of time compiling various wishlists. I love making lists of things (makes me feel accomplished when I cross things off!), and I keep a Word Document of things I want that I am constantly updating.

This list, what I like to call the "$$$ Edition" features some of my more expensive wants - basically things I totally don't need but lust after like mad. I'm sure everyone's got at least a couple of these!

1. Chanel Classic Flap with Silver Hardware (Medium/Large or Jumbo)
I have wanted one for years and years. Wish they weren't so expensive!

2. Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 30

3. Guccy Sukey Medium Tote (Special Edition Gucci for UNICEF)

4. Tiffany & Co. Diamond Key Necklace
So. Much. Shiny.

5. Miu Miu Matelassé Wallet
Price-wise, this is much more reasonable than the other things on this list but still a splurge considering the fact that I rarely use large wallets. But perhaps if I got one, I would be encouraged to use it all the time!
