Black & White

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending the Vancouver Beauty Bloggers Meet-up at Sanafir, organized by Sheila of Maddy Loves. It was so nice to finally meet the faces behind some of the blogs I read... Vancouver has such a great blogging community!

I arrived straight from work so I was in total work attire (a.k.a. a full suit) but black and white are a classic combo, right?

Blouse: Talula Babaton / Pants: Gap / Shoes: Michael Kors / Watch: Michael Kors

I was also sporting my most recent nail experiment, which involved layering Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure over OPI Bubble Bath. I had always thought Hidden Treasure worked best over darker colours (see this post) but it turns out it looks great over light colours too. I think it gives it an added pop to an otherwise neutral mani.

A big thank you to the sponsors (we left with amazing gift bags full of items) and the industry reps from Vasanti Cosmetics and Nail Polish Canada who were in attendance.

Lounging Around in Wilfred Free

This past week has been super exhausting so it's been nice to spend the entire weekend basically relaxing and doing not much at all. Sometimes there's nothing better than curling up at home with a hot cup of organic Chai tea while the rain beats down outside.

My entire outfit is from the Wilfred Free line at Aritzia, which is my absolute favourite for comfy, lounge clothing. This chunky knit sweater is super warm and I love that the French terry sweat pants are tight and tapered - perfect for tucking into boots.

Hunter Regent Grosvenor Rain Boots

I've never been a big sale shopper because I feel like people often end up buying things they otherwise wouldn't just because it's on sale. Don't get me wrong though, when I find a good deal I am more than ecstatic.

Case in point: these Hunter Regent Grosvenor Rain Boots that I just scored for 20% off with a VIP discount from The Bay. When I first saw these a few months ago it was love at first sight. The military details make these so much more than just the average rain boot (which are a necessity living in Vancouver).

Seriously, I cannot even begin to describe how excited I was to find the last pair -- in my size!! I never get this lucky!

(These are also available in black with gold button detailing. Check them out on the Hunter website.)

Winter Kate Dixie Tunic

Vancouver's enjoying a heatwave right now but you can still tell summer's coming to an end, much to my (and I'm sure everyone else's) chagrin, because it's been getting darker so much earlier. My boyfriend and I were literally chasing the sun to try and get these photos in!

Regular readers of my blog know how much I love Nicole Richie's lines, Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960. I recently picked up this tunic dress because I was drawn to the crazy big sleeves and open back.

ALL MINE!! Rachel Comey Mars Boots

In honour of my quarter century birthday which is coming up in less than a week, I decided that now was probably a better time than any to splurge on a birthday present for myself. I mean, I'm only turning 25 once, right? (Oh, justifications).

Anyway, I've wanted these Rachel Comey Mars Boots for ages but the price was kind of a deterrent ($425 CAN at Gravity Pope). Plus they sold out so fast last season there was no hope of finding them anywhere in my size. Thankfully they were re-released again this year and I quickly snapped up a pair in the gorgeous "Whiskey" colour.

I. AM. SO. EXCITED. I can't wait to wear these with everything!
