Get Fit (& January Must-Reads)

Question of the month: How often do you work out? What's your preferred method of exercise?

I exercise 4-5x a week. Right now I am taking Zumba and yoga classes, and mixing those with cardio/strength training at the gym. Zumba is probably my favourite workout (I've been taking classes for about 3 years), but I find fitness classes in general to be the most fun since you have the guidance of an instructor and the exercises are always varied. While in Calgary, for example, I also dabbled in ballet barre workouts. Now that I'm back in Vancouver, I'm planning on getting a personal trainer because I want to learn how to deadlift!

And while we're on the topic of working out, I thought I'd share a few health and fitness-related items that are currently on my wishlist:

  2. That workout bag is adorable! Of course I don't need it at all because I'm able to do all of my workouts at home now - I'm a yoga and ballet girl - but it's still very tempting :)

  3. your workout routine sounds very impressive! :) i know it's not good (and I have to do something about it), but I don't exercise at all... ;/ like the idea of built in fruit infuser bottle!

    1. I never used to exercise either but I started going more frequently while I was in Calgary because I had nothing to do :p

  4. Love your gym picks - that bag is so girly & pretty. Am very curious about the ballet barre workouts - have heard such amazing reviews of them.

    1. They are super fun! The classes I went to were more dance-based but there are others that are more fitness-based (exercises with weights and balls and things).

  12. i love zumba too! well i liked it when i took proper zumba dance classes. Didnt like it as much when i took zumba classes through a "gym"

    LOVE those shoes:) Im going to buy myself a pair post pregnancy to motivate me:)
