Not a Prison Uniform

I've always been a little wary of horizontal black & white stripes (prison uniform, anyone?) but when I got this skirt from She Likes I realized I actually kind of like them! I guess it really depends on the item of clothing. Besides, I was in need of a good bodycon midi skirt and this one seems to fit the bill perfectly.

Tee: Wilfred Free (Aritzia) / Skirt: She Likes (c/o)
Booties: Topshop (similar) / Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs (here)

  1. Ha ha, I think black and white stripes get a bad rap sometimes because of prison uniforms, but this skirt is far too glamourous to ever be mistaken for one - I love the way you dressed it down with your gray tee, but I can easily imagine possibilities for dressing it up, too. What's not to love about that versatility?

  3. Like the simple style! Think there is just too much public impression on black and white stripes as prison uniform, anyway prison wear is of a different colour now! I love stripes too!

    1. I guess I'm just hearkening back to old school prison uniforms that were black & white. All orange would probably remind me of current prison uniforms too!

Love the longer length of the skirt! Definitely opens up the styling possibilities.. maybe as a tube dress?

  25. I love this look, Alison! It's so simple and chic, and the red lip is the perfect finishing touch. If this was a prison uniform, I'd wouldn't mind wearing it everyday ;)
