The Turtleneck Appreciation Club

I've had an aversion to turtlenecks for the longest time, which I think has something to do with wearing them a lot as a kid in the early 90s and feeling like they're dated (which is totally not the case anymore). Anyway, I'm happy to report that I have a new-found appreciation for turtlenecks! My thin black one has become a layering staple for both work and play, and this Vince sweater is getting a ton of wear lately as well. I wonder what the next thing I'll rediscover from my childhood will be... maybe matching sweatsuits?

Sweater: Vince (here) / Leggings: H&M (similar) / Booties: Topshop (similar)
Bag: Chanel / Earrings: House of Harlow 1960 (here)
Gold Ring: Michael Kors (stacked version)

  2. Very cute outfit! I love my turtlenecks in the cold months here in Canada. Turtlenecks are so great for layering(the thin ones) and the sweaters are so cozy. Save me from grabbing a scarf to keep warm.

    1. Those thin turtlenecks were everybody's jam in the 90s... I know I definitely had a few colourful/totally hideous ones.

    1. Agreed! Though I still refuse to budge on a few things like platform sneakers, haha.

  9. Gorgeous! I wish turtlenecks looked that lovely on me. I love the classy look of turtlenecks but rarely wear them because they are not flattering on me and also they bother my neck sometimes (I have problems with scarves too)!

  11. OMG I have an aversion to turtlenecks too lol! Not the way they look...I just feel really claustrophobic and anxious when I wear them haha. But from a style perspective I think they are gorgeous and give an outfit a perfect polished look! Love this all black outfit Alison:)!

    1. Ah, I totally hear you! They usually feel so restrictive around the neck... thankfully this one is a chunky knit so more room to breathe :)
